Children’s Aid Mission is in the process of establishing a surgical center in Santo Tomas, Milpas Altas, Sacatapequez. They will have three surgery rooms. This will be an outpatient surgical unit at the beginning, although they hope to expand soon. The group has been donated equipment to set up a pediatric physical therapy room, which is already operational.
They urgently need better O.R. lights, table top sterilizers, back tables, mayo stands, suction machines, pulse oximeters, and lens for Zeiss surgical microscopes. They can use about any kind of instruments that anyone wants to donate; most specialties will eventually work there. They are also in need dental xray and equipment.

John Bell of Transitions is planning a large shipment of medical equipment and basic medical supplies to Guatemala. The items that he is collecting range from ventillators to wheelchairs to disposable diapers. He welcomes both in-kind, and tax-deductible monetary donations.

The Moore Center for Surgery, a project of The Shalom Foundation, is in need of certain supply items to complete the center. Some are very basic – you may even already have them! Some are more technical, so appreciated all the more.
They are coordinating shipments from Nashville to Guatemala City. They can also coordinate a donation from within Guatemala.

Children of the Americas has an ongoing need for donations of wheelchairs, prosthetic arms, legs and upkeep of prosthetic parts on previous donations. These items are needed in Guatemala for patients in our data base with O & P needs. We see many patients on our January team trips in Guatemala that have ongoing orthotic and prosthetic issues.
