Jody Greenlee RN – Board President

Jody joined Link for Health in 2009 and currently serves as Board President. Jody has resided in Lexington, KY since 1978, when she began the BSN program at The University of Kentucky College of Allied Health. Long time president of Children of the Americas, Jody continues to serve that group as Vice President. She is the founder and Executive Director of Finding Freedom Through Friendship, Inc.

Jody enjoys serving on the Lexington Medical Alliance Board, as LMSA Scholarship Chair, and Eastwood Neighborhood Association Executive Council. She and her husband have fostered two children through COTA and are the parents of three college students.

 

Marian Rainville  JD - Board Secretary 

Marian joined Link for Health in 2009 and currently serves as Board Secretary.  Marian has a B.A. in International Studies and Spanish from the College of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN, and a J.D. from the University of Minnesota. 

Before returning to Minnesota to go back to school, Marian worked for Red Cross Disaster Services in Miami.  Marian spent several years in the litigation department of a Minneapolis law firm and currently works for Lawson Software in St. Paul. 

Marian lives in Minneapolis with her husband, Pete, and children Sylvie (6), and Paul (2).

 

Laura Hernon - Executive Director

Laura founded Link for Health in January 2009 and is the Executive Director and a member of The Board of Directors.  Laura received her BBA in Finance from the University of Memphis and her MS in Accounting from the University of Colorado. Following graduation, Laura worked for several years in the Finance & Accounting industries. For the past 12 years, Laura has been a full-time mom to Jill, 12; Dave, 10; Erin 4; and Franklin, 2.  Laura is married to Trevor Moody. 

Laura has traveled to Guatemala five times in the past three years including visiting Panajachel with a medical mission in December 2008.  It was then that she realized the potential benefits of cross-border and cross-discipline collaboration.  In addition to her work with Link for Health, Laura has volunteered with hunger relief organizations in Seattle.

 

Trevor Moody - Board Member 

Trevor’s industry experience is in medical device R&D and as a management consultant. Since joining Frazier Healthcare Ventures, he has led numerous financings for several medical device companies, such as Ascension Orthopedics, Calypso Medical, Cardiac Dimensions and EBR Systems.  Prior to joining Frazier Healthcare, Trevor was a management consultant with The Wilkerson Group. His work included acquisitions assessment, market opportunity reviews and strategic consulting assignments for many start-up and large-cap medical device companies. Trevor has also held R&D, product development and marketing positions at Telectronics and Ventritex, two successful medical device companies. Trevor holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (biomedical focus) from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, and an MBA from MIT.  Additionally, Mr. Trevor is a trustee and current Vice-Chair of the Seattle Biomedical Research Institute.

 

Avery Dickins de Girón PhD, Vanderbilt University Center for Latin American Studies - Advisory Board Member

Avery earned a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Vanderbilt in 2008. Her research examines international development programs in Q’eqchi’ Maya villages as well as the security guard industry in Guatemala. 

She is the Assistant Director of Vanderbilt’s Center for Latin American Studies and is the Treasurer of the Guatemalan Scholars Network.  She teaches an undergraduate study abroad course on Guatemala at Vanderbilt. 

She enjoys swimming, cooking, and spending time with her husband Carlos and daughter Lucia.

 

Marco Vinicio Bautista MD, Surgeon, Guatemala - Advisory Board Member

Marco graduated from San Carlos University with his MD degree in 1994. He first began work as a Guatemalan surgeon in 2000. He was awarded a degree in Public Health from Landivar University in 2008.  Marco’s work experience includes being an attendant in the ER for three years, following a two-year commitment as the physician in charge of the surgery department in a District Hospital in Guatemala. He was awarded the position of Medical Director for the three years following in Tiquisate, Guatemala.

As a native Guatemalan, Marco brings a unique perspective on coast-to-coast medical care issues pertinent to his country.

 

Eduardo Rolando Caseres Lopez, MD, Surgeon, Guatemala – Advisory Board member 

Eduardo graduated from the University of San Carlos in Guatemala in 1991. He graduated from a post-grad program in general and trauma surgery from The General Hospital San Juan de Dios in 1995, where he went on to become the Chief of Surgery Residents in 1996. He was the Executive Director of The General Hospital in San Benito, Peten from 1997-2000. Eduardo was the Director of The Surgical Center of APROFAM from 2001 to 2009.

He currently holds the position of Production Advisor for the new Central Hospital of APROFAM. Following many management training courses internationally, Eduardo has become the founder and Executive Director of INTERMEDIA Consultores, founded in 2009. 

Eduardo and his wife, Brenda are the proud parents of Astrid (18), Dieggo (15) and Guillermo (11).

    One woman from Villa Nueva completely lost her sheet metal roof from the combined impact of the Pacaya volcanic ash and the rain from tropical storm Agatha. She is widow with three young children and with very limited income. That is only one of hundreds of cases around the country. The task to help everyone seems overwhelming. How can one person help everyone. The answer is fairly simple. You can’t. So I decided to do what I can by replacing the roof for that woman. If you can’t help everyone, help one.
